Become a FangCheck Founding Expert

Lend your snake identification expertise to an app with one mission: stop harmless snakes from being killed out of fear, and help bite victims get the right response.

Why FangCheck Exists

Most snake ID apps rely on AI alone, and AI is wrong about roughly 1 in 5 snake IDs. That's not good enough when someone's safety is on the line.

FangCheck uses a hybrid model: instant AI identification, with any uncertain or potentially venomous result escalated to a verified human expert. Experts are the trust backbone of the whole system.

When a user is staring at a snake in their yard or recovering from a bite, they need more than a guess. They need someone who knows the difference between a black racer and a cottonmouth, between a garter snake and a copperhead. That's where you come in.

The Role

  • Review flagged identifications

Jump in when convenient — no shifts, no quotas, no on-call schedule.

  • Confirm, correct, or flag results

Use a purpose-built workspace with full-resolution, zoomable photos.

  • 'I'm not sure' is always valid

Flagging a photo as insufficient evidence is a valued, safety-first answer.

Early volume is low, so this is light — roughly 10-30 minutes a day, only if you choose.
